The Facilitation Community of Practice is for people who have responsibilities related to developing or delivering training within their organizations. This community of practice will cover adult learning theory, strategies for the greatest retention and best practices for keeping your learners engaged, all the while having fun!

In each session we will spend some time in discussion of that week's topic, and then spend time in pairs applying what you have learned so far by designing a session on a topic of your choice.   Each week you will continue to build on that same topic with feedback from your peers and group leader, culminating to delivering your session to our chapter in October! 

We will start this community of practice virtually, however, we are hoping to start meeting every other month live, in person starting in March, but that is yet to be determined.

About Rusty:

Rusty is our Facilitation Community of Practice Leader!

Rusty brings diverse experience in Talent Management and Consulting, with concentration on design and delivery of content and curriculum development. He has over 15 years of experience in organizations including Indiana University, Arkansas State University, Ivy Tech Community College, LifeDesigns, Inc, Smithville Communications, and Stericycle, Inc.

In his work, Rusty applies knowledge gained from years of facilitating and design using a very engaging and creative approach to training and adult learning theory. Rusty is certified in Creative Techniques (Bob Pike), Master Facilitator (ATD), Advanced eLearning Instructional Design (ATD), Advanced Articulate Storyline (ATD) and Change Management (ATD).

Most Communities of Practice are available to ATD-CIC members only, but the Facilitation Community of Practice is open to both members and non-members, free of charge.

Communities of Practice have no long-term commitment for ongoing attendance. We’d be delighted to have you join us when you’re available. Registration is requested to ensure all attendees have seating and resources available.
